Let Their Aviation Dream Take Flight Give your future aviator the unforgettable experience of taking the first step toward the pilot’s seat—with the family there to share every moment. The Future Aviator Family Discovery Flight is much more than a sightseeing tour. It is an introductory aviation experience designed for young students who are curious about flying, becoming a pilot, or discovering what flight training is really like. The experience begins on the ground with a welcoming introduction from a certified flight instructor. Your student will learn about the aircraft, basic cockpit instruments, essential safety procedures, and how pilots prepare before every flight. Next, the instructor will guide the student through a basic preflight inspection before the family boards a modern Cessna 172SP equipped with a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. The future aviator will sit in the front seat next to the instructor, while up to two parents, guardians, or family members may ride along in the back seats as observers. This allows the entire family to share the excitement, ask questions, enjoy the views, and celebrate an important aviation milestone together. During the approximately 45-minute flight experience, measured from engine start to engine shutdown, the student will observe how the aircraft is operated and communicate with the instructor using an aviation headset. When conditions are safe and appropriate, the instructor may allow the student to handle the flight controls during selected portions of the flight. After landing, the student will receive a personalized Certificate of Completion recognizing their Future Aviator Discovery Flight Experience. Whether aviation is already their biggest dream or simply a new curiosity, this experience can be the moment that inspires a lifelong passion for flight.
